​The Alpha Workshops

The Alpha Workshops is a distinguished producer of high-end wallpaper, fine finishes, and the only professional school for decorative painting in the entire country. In 2013 I was hired as the Introduction to Decorative Painting teacher, taking new students through a 10-week process of learning everything from Surface Preparation through a wide variety of Glazing Techniques, gilding, Venetian Plaster, etc. Throughout my 7 years at Alpha, I took the students on informative field trips, hung student exhibitions, spear-headed and taught a Su Casa senior citizen curriculum, managed teaching learning-challenged youth at The Academy for Social Change, assisted with preparing and hanging student work for the annual fund-raisers, guided students through their portfolio presentations and graduations, and without iintending to became the School Director that involved redesigning the curriculum, getting it approved by the NYS Burea of Proprietary School Supervision, supporting all of the teachers, and assisting the students' applications for funding.
